Announcements - LoCAR Members Make a Difference in Their Communities

Posted on:

We are beyond thankful for our amazing Community Outreach Committee, who stepped up to prepare and distribute meals for members of our community.

Members of the committee volunteered their time at Grace Community Kitchen - a community wide endeavor to provide food and companionship for those in need in the area. Many local churches and organizations provide assistance in this collaborative outreach, housed at Trinity Lutheran Church in Vermilion, Ohio.

Because of our incredible volunteers, 360 meatballs were prepared and 60 families were served.

A huge thank you to our Community Outreach Committee members who stepped up:
Kim Guelker (Committee Chair and LoCAR Director), John Korinko (Co-Chair), Melanie Stock (LoCAR Affiliate Director), Adam Griffith, Cynthia Gore, and Elise Nedrow.

This is what service and teamwork looks like in action ...

Grace Community Kitchen is locally, state and federally recognized and approved. It has a board of community volunteers with hearts for the hungry, lonely and poor living in our extended community. Grace Community Kitchen offers a free service and is open to all who walk through their doors. Their mission is to provide food that has nutritional value. And they provide balanced meals for in-house guests and offer much needed take-home meals for the weekend.

The service, compassion, and teamwork demonstrated by LoCAR’s Community Outreach Committee truly remind us what it means to look out for one another. Thank you for all that you do.
